oooooh that's SO cool to have some updated JMOD sizes based on Post 1999 Hardware ~! - I wonder what year Sep Plate is in that Pic ? - DD you need to do up a newer Sep Plate per the Sonnax CONSERVATIVE sizes with the new Line Pressure Booster Kit & report - Then tear it all back apart & go to the AGGRESSIVE Sonnax sizes & report some more... Just knock all that out in your spare time this weelend LOL~!

Basically had it not been for the 93 MKVIII there would be no Ford today... Ford would be extinct... like the Dinosaur... or the Do Do Bird... or the Buffalo almost... or like Chrysler or GM for instance...

DD would be a celibate Monk... chanting in a Monestary somewhere DEEP - DEEP in the hills of West Virginia...

OR..... DD would be like Kung Fu...... walking around.......... kinda sorta like ............ a Bum...

Sorry, I meant 1991+ AODE, like what they used in the crown vics. I know thunderbirds didn't come with them until 94.

Alan, there are some interesting things in the link...

It says that F5 castings and up have the revised passages; that's the 96 model year, IIRC.

So:

I thought there were changes in '99 up to some case passages; I thought I saw a pic of someone opening an older tranny's passages in a case with a long drill. :) Here, I thought... Are the 99+ cases better than the 96-98? What's the best for rebuilds in the future?

I guess that questions should be: If I'm buying a transmission from you, what core would you want back, preferably? If that's private info, I understand. :)

Will a 96 valvebody work in the newer trannys, or are there differences in the later ones that make the 96 obsolete? Obviously, I'd want to upgrade all the vb internals. I just have an extra 96, and worry about drilling a VB.

Would you recommend an experienced noob try to upgrade a vb with the sonnax parts, or do you think the first one will be trash? :)

I'm not sold on the component anyway I just thought the chart was good info. I definately use the sonnax pressure regulator valve. I don't use any pre97 transmission cores for a build. For a performance build I like to use the 04+ cores, darn good stuff there. If you have a pre97 model I just want the output shaft and lever. There are other useable parts but those are the important ones. To go to a 4r75/4r70e I need the extension housing and output ring carrier. There were f4 and f5 pumps. Then there was a 00 pump and the latest pump which appears to be 04, possibly 03. The cases did not change until the newest design with the extra sensor hole (4r70e and 4r75). The 96 valvebody will work and are better than 95 but I still choose not to use them.
LOL at buck all hail the markVIII! If you really think about it they were a decade ahead of their time on technology. GM and Chrysler did not do what ford did until recently. The 4.6 all around was fords reign of technological superiority. The first designs had issues, much like many first designs. The coyote they build now is as far as I can tell the best mass produced engine going. The Hemi certainly isn't on par with it and GM needed considerably more cubes to compete.
