Looking for some help here as I am stumped.

I haven't had any recent problems until one morning last week my cougar would not fire up. At this point it has started a couple times, but after it sits for a little while the ignition seems to go dead. From the start I was sure it was electrical, but now I have no idea.

Ive got power to the injectors and to the coils when it will not fire. Ive dug through all the wiring I could see trying to find an open wire, tested the fuse box under the dash and the power distro box under the hood with a test light and everything is good.

Any ideas?

when you go to turn your car on, do you hear the fuel pump prime?
Yep, and Im fairly sure its getting fuel since it has sounded really loaded up when it actually does start, which I figured would be from all the fuel in the cylinders from when its just turning over.

Its as if Ive got fuel and ignition, but the coils just arent firing.

Also, I have no check engine light. Starter turns it over just fine, I could crank on it all day.

Well, found the problem.

Probably should have done some searching first lol

Turned out to be the wiring at the crank sensor.
