That's something they would send in regular mail on the lawyers company letterhead.

Not true. The notification I got from the RIAA Class Action Suit a few years ago never came via regular mail. The $2.00 I got did, but not the original notification. This here internet thing actually is being used for stuff.

Yeah.. never expect to get rich off of a class action lawsuit. The more people sign up, the less money you get.

The RIAA thing was posted on /. years ago.

We got a check for 43 cents once from a CA against Citibank/Citigroup. We had a good laugh over that one.

A tale of 2 PS2's

A class action against Sony for their faulty ps2's...it’s about time!!

I have purchased two PS2’s and had them both break within 2 years. The lenses are defective…Sony knows it and is praying that we…the consumer..just keep buying an inferior product.

Sony...I have bought two PS2 units. My units are used for recreational gaming and not abused in any way. Why have two of my PS2's broken? Why has my Xbox, which has now seen three times the playing time of the other two units combined, continue to work?

Thank you Sony for taking over $500.00 in my money and providing some of the cheapest gaming consoles in video game history, and the worst customer service of any company I have had the unfortunate luck of dealing with.

My Xbox still works great. My Genesis, Nintendo, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, and Intelevision are all still operational. My 25 year old Atari is still working and I might add, is made like a tank.

If I could some how find the person or people responsible for cutting every corner in production to save 1/1000th of a cent on every unit, I would beat them with my Xbox to show them how a gaming console is to be constructed. :zbash:

No wait :D …I would use the 25 year old Atari. The look on their face as the wood grain side quickly approached them… to smite them down for shoddy production…. :evil4:

Then I would turn on my Atari and put in Battlezone….assuming that every meticulously graphed polygon I am destroying… are really the blueprints for the PS3.

This is just my 2 cents…used to be an avid Playstation fan… But now I’m in line for my 360. Eagerly awaiting Perfect Dark Zero and Madden

I have one of the faulty models, and the only things that work on it nowadays are DVDs and games that are on DVDs. No blue disc PS2 games, no PS1 games, no CD-roms or anything. I have since indefinitely borrowed my friend's PS2 which he never uses, and $25 or a free game from a specific list doesn't sound like it's worth the trouble to me. Especially since PS3 will probably be out before anyone gets anything.
