can someone help me? I raced my friend last night and after the race my engine rattles when the rpm passes 1,500. i looked closely and it looks like a pulley, but it sounds like something hits something else according to the rpm the faster the rpm the more it hits. can someone help. and if you'd like to know i beat a 1998 civic with a fartpipe and a 94 plymouth laser with a 4 cylinder turbocharged awd in my 95 4.6 lx with 110,000 miles on it. please help, i think i just need to tighten it up a little bit. thanks for your help

It could be an idler pulley.
I see your car has 100,000 plus miles its possible
the bearing located in the idler pulley is shot.
also check all pulleys make sure they are tight
alternator,waterpump,crank,pwr steering.

Possibly after your racing adventures the higher than
normal rpms may have loosened something or blown out
your already high mile idler bearing.

Take the serpentine belt off and spin all the pulleys manually. The bad ones will make themselves known. It's a good idea to replace the tentioner and idler pulleys together. They are the same part (under 20 bucks each.)

BTW nice kill.
