hey all,
After reading a post from Thomas, I pulled codes from my 91 (eec-iv) this morning when I got to work and got a list that was a mile long !!! I thought the codes were 3 digit so I had to decode my decoded codes, make sense? I read, in a post here, that the codes are erased after being displayed, so I figured I would do it again when I got home. My CEL came turned on & off all the way home. I checked the codes again and it was still LONG. I lost count but captured a few codes ( like 8 or 9) Does anyone have a list of codes for our cars?

I pulled codes again this morning after I got to work and here is what I got....
1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1, (pauses between all)
76
17
73
26
32
73
37
17
71
77
32
63
27
33
7

I don't understand all the ones in the begining or why it stopped on a 7. All these codes are "key on engine off". Could some of those codes be 3 digit? Would it be easier for me to go to Autozone and have them check it? The numeric codes will come up on their scanner right? I'm so confused.

okay let me try again, top to bottom
11
111
111
176
177
326
327
337
then it repeats. I do believe I miscounted the 176 before the 177, as the eec should not throw 2 identicatal codes in a row. Am I on the right track......anybody...bueller....bueller

I'd say get the codes scanned, or get a scanner and do it yourself, mainly for the sake of accuracy.

Here's a PDF file to assist in deciphering what you're reading. Some point to EGR problems, O² sensor issues, throttle position sensor - depending on how you read the codes. For example, one of the 3-digit sequences you have is not on the list I linked to...

Good luck to you.
