My 96 didnt have this option and I would like it.There is a local salvage yard and they have one with the same color interior as mine,do you think it would be hard to put in mine?Is it worth it?The reason I said the same color interior is because of the headliner.Has anyone done this with a factory sunroof car to a non-sunroof car?
Thanks,
Chris

dunno. if you're comfortable cutting a hole in your roof, go ahead. i let someone else take responsibility for it. i got just a sunroof. you are probably talking about a moonroof right?

Like BR1 said, if you're ok cutting that hole do it. But you could be asking for all KINDS of leaking probs, obviously. I'd never do it, even having someone else install it.

Then again....i passed up on a whole lot of birds that didn't have the moonroof cause I wanted one that bad. so i understand why you're thinkin about it.

Yes....a moon roof.

Yep,that was what I was talking about. There is a local salvage yard that has one in it.I could get everything for it including the correct color headliner.I once put a sunroof in my escort gt but that was easy.As for cutting the hole, well,I trust my self enough to do it because I have friends around here with alot of cool cutting tools.I think I am going to try it.
Thanks,
Chris

I think you should re-think that idea of putting in the factory sun-roof.
On my 95, there is not just a "hole" where the sunroof goes in. The roof skin is folded down, and becomes the sealed sides of the sunroof opening. Also, the corners are rounded and formed into the sides. If you just cut a hole in your roof, how are you going to seal the sides ?

Going to think about this one....

I am not scared to cut a hole in my roof but leaking would be an issue.I am going to have to go and check that other one out before I make plans. They have about 15 over there so I am sure there is one with out the roof in it that I can look at.I will make a decision then.
Thanks,
Chris

I just got a 17"x32" manual moonroof with removable glass put in for 265 bucks at Ziebart. I have a lifetime warranty on the seals, so if it leaks, they pay to fix it. I am very happy with it, and I know it doesn't leak cause the day i got it, it rained and it was fine inside untill my dumbass tried to open the moonroof a crack (while parked) to let the smoke flow out, I opened it and water poured in on me, but i quickly closed it and it was fine. -greg
