hey, my sticker on the door jam says "Y" under the "AX" section, which means it's supposed to be 3.08 open, but when i power brake it, it leaves black marks from both rear wheels....what's up with that?

im not sure why, but mine does that too. i have an open 3.27 rear. did a burnout once and both wheels got going, and i could feel the back end sliding sideways a bit.

I saw someone on here a while back recommend putting water or something on one tire or in a little puddle of water so it would reduce the friction and that tire should break out a lot sooner than the other if its open and not Trak-Lok

It's probably because you have the brakes on. The faster spinning tire is experiencing more braking, so the torque is transferred to the other tire. I've managed to get myself unstuck a time or two by setting the parking brake and gassing it. It doesn't work often though, so now I have limited slip.
