In my 93 Bonneville, I am having some wierd issues going on.

Only with around a 1/4 tank of fuel, Braking hard.

The engine will stall out, while braking hard, RPM's drop and engine dies, starts right back up though.

I would guess fuel system some where, but I have no idea where to start.

If I have a half of tank or more, and I brake hard, this does not happen.

Very wierd problem.

Thanks Alot

My guess is the fuel pump???? The pick-up for the fuel is screwed????

Could be the sending unit and/or gauge. I replaced the pump on my Dodge mini van (pump and sending unit all in one box). Now the thing runs out of gas at 1/2 tank  .

When it dies and you then fill up, how much does it take? My point is that the gauge/sending unit may be giving you a false reading and you are actually out of gas at 1/4 tank.

Easy to check as you have to fill her up anyway.

I had thought of this but, as long as I am not braking, it doesn't die. It has to have something to do with the shifting of the fuel to the front when I am breaking and what not.

I will hate to have to fix something already on this car, or at the very least fill up all the time to keep gas in the tank

Thanks guys...
