i got my new shifter and i ready to install it and i bought a 20 amp toggle switch for the overdrive button.

question is how do i install the wires to the toggle switch for overdrive to work correctly.

thanks for any help

The overdrive cutoff is a momentary switch. That is, if you close the contacts for a brief moment, the computer will switch overdrive on or off based on if it was on or off before you pressed the button. It doesn't work by any kind "switch closed - on, switch open - off" logic.

There's no need for such a high current switch - in fact, you would probably be better off to return it in exchange for a momentary switch. There's probably no more than an amp of current flowing through that circuit anyway.

you should have two wires going to your factory switch one is pink with a orange tracer which is power and the other ls tan and white which runs to pin #29 on the ecm
