Hey all... Just wondering...

Aren't there a few additives for radiators to temporarily patch a small leak?

What is a good one to use??

What is a good temp thermostat to get for a 97 3.8L v6?

Thanks in advance!

yessss......

i believe they sell the patch for a leaking radiator, its hard clay and they sell at discount auto parts, not expensive, as for the thermostat, stick with the 195 stock t-stat, you can go with a lower t-stat like a 180 but you need a chip in order for your car to run right. i know this b/c when i switched to a 180 t-stat without the chip my car drove very poorly, so just stick with the 195 trust me.

I know that to use a 180 tstat you should get a chip. I put a 180 in my 97 4.6 last January & the car shows no signs of any oddities. I managed to get almost 31mpg while driving to fla. in june (30.7mpg). I probably will put a 195 back in before winter though because the temp gauge barely gets to the norm range. At least changing it is very easy. BTW in summer months when it is 90+ degrees a 180 is great!

195....

Stick with 195 degree thermostat, don't mess with stuff like that unless you get a chip. I changed mine and stuck with 195.
