Hi, a little confused here reading the posts. If I replaced the complete lower control arms, are those bushings with it called the radius or strut rod bushings?
Or are they completely separate issues? Thanks!

Separate. The lower control arm is the piece with the ball joint at the wheel end and the camber adjustment at the K-member end. The radius/strut rod connects to the lower control arm near the ball joint, then angles forward. The strut rod bushings are not part of the lower control arm, and must be replaced separately.

radius arm bushing=strut rod bushing at the frame.
Well mostly, in terms of function they are comparable in function although the name technically isn’t
interchangeable. The terminology ‘radius arm’ for a ford vehicle stems from the development (or lack of)
of fords truck based ‘twin I-beam” suspension, which some may know first hand by the beating
they have taken an early 4x4 explorer or f-series pickup truck.

The term ‘strut arm’ is fairly more ubiquitous insofar as its origins and use as a generic term.

the mechanic who did my first set of Moogs kept calling that radius arm bushings......it took me a few minutes until i figured out what he was talking about. I say tension strut, he says, no not the strut, the radius arm. I dont bother to argue, just smile and nod...and a wow, that ****er was shot when he showed me the old bushing.
