Just wondering if anyone has put Cobra shocks (bilstein) on a LX... I know a bunch of SCCoA guys have done it but I wasn't able to find anything on here about people doing it.

Kenneth said the ride was pretty harsh with the Lincoln AirBag system, and the last time I talked to him, he was complaining that one of the rear shocks broke, and got wedged into the wheelwell, and left him stranded on the side of the road, so maybe there's a problem with travel in the shocks, which led to it breaking.

hmmm, I'd like to know about that. If the Cobra shocks will work well, it could be an easy, cheap upgrade!

www.rockauto.com has Motorcraft rear shocks for the 2002 Cobra for $23 each. :)

well the Cobra shocks for the convertible are not as stiff as the coupe shocks. I will be putting front Sports shocks in and real cobra vert (Bilstein) shocks in the rear next weekend. I'll let you know how it goes :)

You need different nuts for the shocks that's about it... and there super cheap.. probably like $30-40 US

hmmm, I think the convertible shocks would be a little stiffer....maybe due to added weight of roof folding back, for added chassis stiffening...who knows?

So what nut do you need? I bet you can't just go to the hardware store for one... is it the one for a normal LX shock? I'm thinking about doing this with Sport shocks in front over Koni's cuz it's a heckuva lot cheaper.
