Can it be rebuilt? or is it not worth it? i got around to pulling mine apart and looking at it. looks really good except the tin rings are trashed. two if them were all the way up in rubber gromet and the other two were halfway up the side.

It can be rebuilt. Synchro's and gears can be found easily through Southern Gear. Only thing that you will have problems with is trying to find things like shift forks, and some of the other things like that.

I've got a spare M5R2 Tranny that has bad forks if you want one for spare parts.

sorry sorry i forgot to mention that it was just the shifter. the rest of the tranny has already had the truck overhaul done

If it is just the shifter, I would recommend that you get the "short throw" shifter that is offered by B&M. It is a MUCH tighter shift pattern, and is a GREAT upgrade to that M5R2 tranny.
