Red cougar...

I have an important question: If an engine will turn over manually, with a ratchet, is it for sure going to clear if it starts? I keep having a recurring nightmare that a chain moved while I had it apart. I now have timing gears I could add, but I'd rather start it than tear it down to check.
What do y'all think?

The only way it could hit when started but not turning it by hand would be if the lifters have collapsed from lack of oil pressure. Maybe do a compression check before firing it up to make sure you get similar readings on both banks. If it turns over, and the compression test is the same on both banks, then I would say you should be good.
Cool! Thanks, Mikey. I got the transmission lines on today, and the coolant lines and radiator installed; Its a 3-pass mishimoto aluminumw with the cobra fan, and i've made mounts to where the body flex won't affect it, which has made those leak in the past. I also need to drain the gas tank; no way I'm using 14 yp gas.I'm going to replace the oil, as I'm sure there's been condensation. It started raining at noon, so I'm stuck for now. :)

Stupid wiring overkill question: Is this too ridiculous to use for a battery relocation?

I have two. 350mcm, and it's shielded. :)
Yes, that's a 50 cent piece.

Stuff for the dash cubby. Wideband, amp on,Amp fan, antenna, and brake lights. :)

Damn, that is some thick wire! Other than the added weight, and PITA routing it, I don’t see any downside to a thicker cable, but overkill is an understatement! Some 2 gauge would be fine. 0 gauge would be overkill, and 00 gauge would be more than you would ever need. Anything that would require a cable that thick, I don’t want to be anywhere near it!
Yeah, it's ridiculously heavy; it's more than the bracing I bought from JL, lol. It has 4awg wiring now; that will be fine for the stereo. I may use bigger for the relocate, If I find a good battery box. It will still fit under the hood, even with the big cobra radiator, so it's going in there for now.I cranked it over by hand today until I saw oil thru the filler; Hopefully the galleys are full. I have to reinstall the amp before I hook up the battery, and do something with the old gas.
That cable was for [email protected] on a R&D machine; when it failed, these went in the dumpster!
That looks about as thick as the factory Lincoln LS battery cable I used. May well be overkill but better over than under!

Those have sealcon feed thrus with them; They won't leak water. But I have 2awg also; it's code to 90A. Stereo draws 57A under normal listening levels, so I'll keep the big stuff for my welder. :) They're at least 50lbs each. :)
I had two runs of 2/0 in my previous setup for a front and rear battery for my audio stuff. I'm going to use just one this time and ground to the chassis. I don't think 2/0 is as big as a $0.50 piece though!
The trunk is dry, so I can put the amp in tomorrow, and the sub. I learned the hard way not to leave it on the charger and jam, that kills chargers, lol. It's pouring rain.I think I'll order food, and watch tv, lol.

Last trunk battery I did I think had a 1 guage or something close to that. Run that sucker! As far as cam timing goes. If you can rotate the motor by hand at least 2 complete rotations I think you’re fine. If the timing was far off then you’d have piston contact.
That's what I was going on; I just wondered if there would be a difference running. All I have left is draining the gas tank. I'm going to fill a drum, in the trailer for the tractor, and take it out in a big field and burn it. I think I'll call the local fd and ask first. :) I'd hate to hack anyone off.

Here's some pix.
Transmission cooler.

That keeps rocks and crap out of it.
Here's the view:

The ac bypass. Well, Gordon, I guess I did mine black too! That's a 2003 Lincoln Towncar motor, with 725 miles. I saw the odo of the car it came out of; The bumper cover and stuff was in the back seat.

I was looking for pix of the engine apart; they must be on the server.

Which trans cooler is that? What are the dimensions? I like the red! Keep going!
Gordo, that's the tru-cool 48k, I bought 3 of them from Dirtydog. it's as wide as the radiator, and ~8" wide. 1/2" fittings.I have 3/8 lines he made too, but I came across some all stainless lines, inside and out, so I'm using those. :) They were originally for putting liquid helium in an MR. :)

I've got to get rid of dirt dobber nests everywhere. I dug out stereo parts today; I've got to put it back in before I install the battery. I'm still looking for my box of car stereo stuff; I need a power block for 0 gage, and some other stuff, like fuse holders. The wideband is going in, so I need to find one of the plates I bought from racecougar. I need a switch for amp/ amp fan. and some other stuff.
Tomorrow, I'm going to carefully inspect the fuel rail. I covered all the other openings, oh crap. I removed the transmission filler tube, when I folded it in half. So, I'm dropping the pan on the trans. dirt dobber crap in the transmission would be bad. I have an npi filler, and a mark one. I have no idea if The mark one will bolt up to the Cobra heads. I think I can get the npi one to work on these pi heads. The pi one is never going to work again, lol.
I was looking for a pic of the crack pipe mod, but I can't find it.

you can get adapters off msc or mcmaster. I use hydraulic line swivels to make it easy to assemble. They'll take the pressure and temperature. You have to come out of the trans with a male to male fitting, and screw a short right angle on it to clear the tunnel. I'll see if I can find the partnumbers. I'll add pix

Although diesel works better (last longer), it would great as a weed killer; especially on blackberry vines.
That's the same trans cooler I have in the green car.
We don't have vines; blackberries here grow on these huge, incredibly thorny bush/thicket structures. I went thru a patch of them on a dirt bike 45 years ago at wot, due to a breaking cable. My down jacket disappeared into a cloud, and I ended up looking like I tried to **** a tiger, lol.
