Ok, so I have a new baby at home so I am doing all the cosmetic/budget mods I can right now. I managed to remove the Thunderbird LX logo from the taillights and will next do the side moldings.
My question is, has anyone here done this that has a dark colored car? My car is the emerald green. Just looking at it the paint doesn't seem to be faded, but I think that once I get the moldings off, it might be noticeable. Is there a way to somehow blend it in if the paint around that area is faded? Maybe wet sanding or something?

i did it. my bird is the goldish tan color. the paint under the moldings is lighter than the rest :( also, i think the dealer painted the car, slapped on the moldings, then applied the clearcoat. i can see and feel a ridge where the clearcoat stops. your best bet would be to have a body shop fix it.
