If the 97 rear bumper is similar to a 95, then there are a bunch of 10mm bolts (I think that's the size) that run along the top edge where it slides under the tailights and decklid. Can't remember if they are in the trunk behind the carpet or underneath. Then there are 2 screws at the edges of each side near the tires. Should just slide off after that.

On my rear bumper, there is a bunch of 'push pins' along the bottom of the bumper. There are maybe 10 bolts on the inside of the trunk. They are behind the carpet, and then you got the screwsnear the tires.

11mm, not 10. And 2 or 3 phillips head screws in the wheel well on each side, and 4 or 5 push-in clips underneath.
