Well, the storm is here!

It started coming down lightly around 10:00AM and is really picking up now! The forecast is 18-24" in the greater Boston area with a sweet spot of 24-30" south and west of Boston. Guess who is living in the sweet spot! :(

Wind gusts of up to 70 mph, coastal flooding is predicted and I'm sure I'll be losing power sometime during this. The governor has ordered everyone off the roads after 4:00PM. I did stock up on refreshments so time to go to grab another one! :zbeer:

Joe

PS......this is also the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of 78!

When did they start naming snow storms???
Annoying isn't it, I've been wondering the same thing... I guess anything to make weather more interesting

I can't believe how many people seem to be in shock that we might get snow in the winter:rolleyes:

Hey Joe we're still allowed to drive in New Hampshire... and the roads don't seem that bad as long as you stay off the coast... Just got back from walmart in Portsmouth with a small bottle of wine to supplement my refreshments;) Forgot to stock up.:(

Still got power!

Snow is still piling up!

Not sure what's outside but reports from nearby towns are in the 2 foot range with about another 10 hours before this thing winds down today. Photos to come! :D

Working on this right now!

I had to go out the front door because the snow drifted up against the back door and I had to shovel the deck off enough to let the dog out! :(

I just saw some pics from a friend in Amesbury, MA. He posted a photo of his car in his driveway
nine hours ago and then an hour ago. Really unbelievable!
Hoping the power stays on for you Joe!

It's a weather channel thing only. The NWS doesn't name the storms, and doesn't recognize TWC's names for the storms.

Just another commercialism...

A few pictures here!

About 6:00 last night, a few inches on the ground.

This morning! Couldn't open the back door.

Out the front door towards my neighbor across the street!

"Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt."

Wait this is only Saturday?? But I didn't have work yesterday either?!!

How are you making out Joe, I slept in a little late but, I finally got the Lincoln liberated from the snowdrift, at the inlaws place. Quick Lunch and I'm off to my trailer in Exeter, to shovel out and find my camera. I'll try to get some pictures posted tonight.

Digging out!

The snow has let up and the sun is peeking out! :)

There is a T-Bird under there!

No room on the deck right now folks!

And here's the kicker. Forecast for Monday is mid to upper 40's and RAIN! Looks like 40's for the rest of the week so major melting will be going down!

Ohhhh man, I remember when that happened here about 5 years ago. There was about 18-24" of snow on the ground from previous snows, then it turned around and warmed up into the lower 40s and rained. Unbelievable flooding was everywhere. Flooded basements, fried sump pumps, backed up sewers, covered roads, just a mess.
