I replaced the lamp , same problem. Checked with a multi-meter and no 12v. between hot and ground. The left lamp works fine. Checked for continuity to the next connector, located behind the wheel well, OK to the lamp base. But no 12v. from that connector. Can I parallel the left bulb to the right one by adding a jumper wire? I assume their all on one fuse, so that shouldn"t matter. The four way flasher works and so does the turn signal, on both the left and right lamps.

IIRC, the wiring harness for the passenger tail light runs from the driver's side of the car, across the trunk floor under the carpet, and over to the passenger side. Trace that across, I think there's a plug in the harness somewhere. Check for corrosion or to see if it's just unplugged.
