Television icon Andy Griffith died Tuesday at his home in Dare County, N.C. He was 86. I think everyone knows the whistling tune associated with the The Andy Griffith Show!

Have always heard that he had a cantankerous attitude. And was not the nicest person to be around . Barney was my fav as well ;)

Now the beginning of July is very memorial for me.
My grandfather died on 7-1-97, Jimmy Stewart 7-2-97, Andy Griffith 7-3-12 and my grandfather was buried--with military honors on 7-4-97.

I was pretty sad when I found out yesterday, always too bad when someone passes away but its so much worse when it was someone who served as a role model for an entire generation. I feel bad that so many people my age probably don't even know who he was. I'm proud to have seen every episode of that TV program and wish that TV today was a little bit more Mayberry and a little less Jersey Shore.
