does anyone know if the plug for the key pad is in the door on the 97 thunderbird?

If you have RKE in the car and feel like cutting a hole in the door, you could add the keypad. The RKE module will support it, but you'd have to add the the wires to the harness. It is a fair amount of work though. I added it when I added the RKE module to my Cougar (didn't have it from the factory).

thanks guys i was hoping that the plug be there by chance like other things that ford left

I personally love the keypad and am still sad that they discontinued that option in 96 and 97. :(

I love my keypad too. No idea what the code is, but when I am stupid enough to lock the keys in the car, I can just stand there and push buttons until it opens!

Did you check the trunk for the code?
