You may not need one till the 11's but if you add one it will go a long way to stiffening a very flexible chassis

Another thing to think about is how often you drive it. Maybe it's just me, but I dont know if I'd feel too good about having a cage in a street driven car. Something about getting into a wreck with steel pipe next to my head.:boom: What do others think?

The S&W cage fits well. They like everyone else thinks it's just another Mustang, so to make it work the best some modification of the rear bars is needed. If you want swing outs, theirs suck. I used Alstons swing outs, but they cost as much as the S&W kit. If you get Chrome Moly tubes it needs to be tig welded. That is an extra cost unless you have the tools and skill. Painting the completed cage is the biggest PITA. Then you will also need a 5 point harness to be legal at the track. The cage does really stiffen the car though. It is one of the best mods I've done. But it was expensive and a PITA. It also at least in my mind caused the car to cross the line to more race car than street car. But I had no choice as the tracks would not let me run anymore till I had a roll bar.

Mike, what are your opinions on safety on the street with a cage? I mean just around town or highway driving with the rollbar and no helmet.

I believe that it has been brought up here before that the cages that Jeg's sells are actually for the Fox platform, not the MN12 platform. They just screwed up on the years. It should say "83-88", not "83-92".
