do you have a trans fluid temp gauge? I think that would be overkill unless you have a high stall (like 3500+).

Are you really generating enough heat to justify or necessitate that amount of cooling?
A 40k cooler is capable of 45,000 BTU’s of cooling in good air!
You must use a thermally controlled cooler to keep the system from being ‘overcooled’ during the winter months (the tru-cool is).
I think your money is better spent buying a transmission temperature gauge.

I've got the autometer ultra lite one in mine.. Works great...
Partnumber is ATM-4357

Where did you find a 40k cooler??
Since I'm going with a 2600-2800 stall TC
from Dirtyd0g I guess I'm going to need one of those
pretty soon...

Yes, i have a 4000 stall converter in mine, with a single 28k cooler and I need to step it up to a 40k unit with a fan asap.

With that converter-you don't need anywhere near close to a 40K cooler.

I agree you don't need that much cooler either, I don't think Casper does either with what he has. Those 28k units should be more than enough for either of you.

For what it's worth, I have the 40K Tru-Cool in my Mustang...and @ 95 degree's outside, the hottest I've seen it is 172 in stop and go traffic. On the interstate, it runs about 155. This may become a problemin the winter...time will tell.

my original idea is if i got the 40k unit i will get the one with the low temp bypass unit. also bigger cooler will hold extra fluid.

ps: kooler-kleen really works!!!
