Im getting ready to get SC bumper and ground effects for my 97LX.
I searched around and found some info.

1. The side skirts are the same 89-95.
2. Any 89-95 sc bumper will work, just make sure you get the inner foam for the sc cover, the 96/97 foam wont fit.
(im totaly clueless what that foam means or is... does one really need foam for the cover? :S)

1989-1993 SC Rear Bumper:

1994-1995 SC Rear Bumper:

Im kind of useless when it comes to phyisical labor but is anything listed above incorrect and/or is there any tips you guys can give for me?

if im correct the gfx doesnt directly fit and some people use doublesides tape others cut something out?
is there possible a writeup for this?
any help is appreceated.

thanks

:D

Edit : pictures fixed

First off, one of your pics shows up. Secondly, dont put sc gfx on the car. They dont have the indentations on the side like the rest of the car does, and it looks funny IMO. Get a xenon kit, those look awesome. Good day to you.

Try these photos. These are SC GFX on my 97 Limited Edition. You may have to do some trimming to get it to clear the 96-97 Side Cladding, but do very thorough test fitting first to be sure. Once its cut, there is no going back. If you do have to cut, do it a little at a time and then test fit again. lol Its a lot easier on the back if you have access to a lift so you can do it while standing. I used 3M double sided tape combined with some emblem adhesive (following the advice of a local body shop). Be certain to allow time for the tape and adhesive to dry and cure before letting it get wet. (I.E. Washing etc.) I didn't, and had to remove some parts, clean out the old adhesive and reapply. If you can figure out a way to apply slight pressure while its drying that'd be even better. I don't have the door panels put on yet, still looking for a set (well, still waiting for a set to show up at the same time I have the extra funds :D)

I think the sideskirts look good, but when you put the rear clip, thats what bothers me. Not having those indents run along the sides all the way looks weird.

I agree with Joel about the rear bumper. Though on my car the "indents" he is speaking of are painted so they stand out more. I would consider a mild rear kit like the Wings West though.

No problem, let me know how it comes out

One other thing, you'll have to drill some holes along the underside of the rocker panels for the plastic push in plugs to hold them on. Use the GFX themselves as a template for where you want the holes. Then just push the holders in. you can get them at O'Reilly's. Be sure to drill the holes small enough so that the holders fit snugly. The body shop called the holders "christmas trees".

For pics of a 97 Sport bird with the sc sideskirts on and for advice on how to do it yourself in your driveway, contact Thomaso12 on here. His look great.

Has anybody put the 94-95 groundeffects on a 89-93? I think the 94-95 had a more agressive looking style to them.

Edit: I meant the rear bumper, has anyone done that?

Any pics, just of the rear bumper? I have never seen that and 95 rear bumper looks curvier than that of the 89-93. So I'm curious if it would look good.

i did side skirts on my 93 lx, i didn't want the rear bumper cuz it says "sc" on the back and seeing how i don't have one, no need for it. i don't have the door peices and i kind of like it the way it is. i plan on adding more black to the car, kind of a 2 tone type.

Well there's not much to show. The rear ends of the 92-95 are identical, so to picture what the 94/95 bumper looks like on an 89-93, just look at a 94/95 :)

Ok my bad, didn't realize the shapes were the same the bumper made them seem different to me. Now I just gotta try and find a rear bumper from a 94/95. :)

Good luck...$$$ and rare. Be expecting to pay $300 or more for one.
