I am in the middle of prepping and painting mine. Going to use 3M tape if at all possible. The hanging clips are no longer available.

You can get the hangers for the late Fox body Mustangs and use them. See here.

Thanks for the info. I've got a set of SC side skirts, but haven't installed them. Trying to decide whether to sell them or install them. Dont know how they'd look with the 96-97 Side cladding. (or if they'd even fit)

Having read this entire thread, I know that the Fox body mustang clips willwork. (You're talking about the clips that hold the Mustang GT side cladding on right?)

Has anyone ever tried the 3M tape? How strong is this stuff?

I just did a test fit on the 97 LE, and I think it'll look great. I need to have a mirror painted anyway, I'll just get my SC parts painted at the same time and then see if I can mount them. :D

It has been much to cold up here to even attempt a fit with the tape. I have spoken with a few people re: this and all say the same thing. Most new GFX kits you purchase utilize 3M tape rather than hangers I think that the strength is in the prep work ie: making sure the area is clean and free of oils and such. These tapes are used regularly in OEM applications. It might take a bit of fit work, but I cant foresee many probs.
3M™ Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape 06383 uses automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) approved acrylic foam core and adhesive technology. 3M Acrylic Plus Tapes part numbers 06382, 06383, 06384 and 06386 are stronger, higher stress handling products than other automotive attachment tapes. These tapes offer more robust performance to a wide variety of automotive substrates. Typical applications would include body side moldings, rocker panel moldings, claddings, wheel flares, bumper trim and other exterior and interior automotive trim components.
