While i was driving, my shift button popped out of my shift and was broken, of course, ford doesnt sell just the part i need, so i had to buy a new shift nob. I read the post in the tech articles on how to remove the nob and all it says is to remove the clip. I did that and spent an hour and a half trying to get it off. It wont budge!!!...Am I missing something? Is there something else that has to be done?

PS Were the shift nobs different in any of the different years?(94-97) The one I got doesnt seem to be the same type of leather, and the leather doesnt stretch as far down the nob. Odd.....I have a 94 Bird.

I tried to push the button in and pull up after removing the C-clip and it still didnt work....i guess im gonna have to take it to ford for $150....thanks for the help anyways

you have to

pull a c-clip out from in the front of the shifter handle, and then press the shift button in, and pull up rather hard, they are a pita to remove, but I wouldn't waste $150 to take it to ford
