Hi I am looking for some info on a transmission shift problem that has cropped up the past two weeks on my 91 Cougar with a 3.8.

Whenever it is WET OUT the tranny starts hesitating shifting between gears....last night we had a little rain and once again today the tranny will not shift gears...getting a shutter when it should be shifting ( 20-25 mph). Two other times in the past two weeks when it is raining out the same thing happens.

Once it drys out the tranny will shift normally...... I am thinking maybe some sensor or wire getting wet might be causing this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, HOPING FOR DRY DAYS AHEAD!!!

Th3 transmission in the 91 has very little electronics I would suggest a bad plug wire is giving you a funny feel you may think is the transmission.
