This is what i researched so far. The T-Bird Sport Shocks in front and the Cobra Vert Shocks in the rear make a nice ride over stock. I want to do this setup. I hear both front and rear shocks are cheap. Where can i buy the front and rear shocks though. I saw people saying the Cobra's were dirt cheap like $30 a piece just new nuts to go with em. I don't want it lowered and I don't want it to perform extraordinary just stock maybe better. I just need to know the places people are getting these shocks, thanks.
BTW sport shocks are from the 96-97 T-birds right anf the cobra verts are the 03 svt shocks right? When I try to get the sport shocks to come up it lists 94-97 shocks as being the same. I have a 95 T-Bird, will gettin a 97 shock be different from the 95 or do I have to look for a specific name in the shock description such as sport version. Anyways help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem when I tried looking up Sport shocks at the local auto parts store. O'Reilly's also didn't differentiate between GT shocks, and Cobra Shocks. I'd kinda like the info as I may have to replace the shocks on the Sport I am picking up this weekend.

By the way, I see you are from Pineville. Would that be the Pineville in MO. near Noel?

Well, if Joe Cooper wasn't a bonehead, I'd have an easy answer for you.

Nope... its the Pineville in Louisiana. I really wish somebody could help us here. My car has 186k and if the shocks are still good or not I'm gonna replace them, they have served their purpose.

Get 96-97 Sports shocks for the front and you already know what to do for the rear..

from 94-97 everything fits everything...

I understand all that. What I am confused about is if I go into an auto parts store and say I want shocks for a T-Bird Sport they tell me all they have is regular T-bird shocks. nothing specifically for a sport, no sport even mentioned. So how do I know I am getting "sport" shocks? Or where do I go to get them?

i have to disagree, their shocks are priced to compete with the bigger outside competitors. and all mn12 shocks are the same fitment except for s/c's

Latest Motorcraft numbers I can see are: AST-135 for the Sport option front shocks, and ASH-21 for the Cobra vert. rears.

There has been a significant price increase on the Cobra shocks, so they aren't the deal they used to be, unless you can find a vendor that has some left over at the old pricing.

Use Ford hardware # N800419-S301 (they come in a package of 2) for the 10 mm nuts on the top of the Cobra shocks. Those are locking nuts with a built-in washer face.

cheers,
Ed N.

Good stuff Ed. Ford has a habit of raising prices if things start selling really well. The Bullitt fuel door was under $30 when it first was released, but when people started buying them up, the price went to $99 real quick. The same thing happened with the Cobra Radiator.

Heres another question. Will the regular Cobra shocks not Verts fit on a 95 Bird? Also, will the 04 GT Front and rear shocks fit on a 95 Bird, just rear or just front, neither?

99 - 04 Cobra rear shocks will fit, they have IRS. Mustangs have completely different front suspension, so those don't work, and the GT still has a solid rear axle, so those shocks are different mounting and too soft for the valving.

how rough of a ride are we talking about. My suspension is stock now lowering so if I was to get motorcraft instead of the cobra shocks what difference would there be, just a slight or more rough with the cobra shocks? it would still be cobras in rear sports in front. so my car would ride slightly rougher than with the cobra verts or farm truck rough?
