I have a 96 'bird with the standard white paint job. I am thinking of painting her a different color (maybe that sexy pearl white).

Is it cost prohibitive to do this because of the replacement of the white bumpers or is it economical? Has anyone done this? How much did it cost? Is it worth the trouble?

This is not a show car at all.

Thank you!!

you repaint a bumper just like any other body panel, except for adding some flex additive.

I'd say $2500 is on the low side for a quality job.

I had no idea!

Greenbird, you have definitely taught me something. I had no idea that you could paint the plastic bumpers on our birds. I thought they had to be replaced with ones of the appropriate color.

So I gather when you buy them, they are just a primer color?

Pardon my stupidity.

primer or totally unpainted. I know some are yellow, others grey depending on the year.
