Oh boy...we are full of bad info...
Justin,
First, you can get the smaller blower pulley from either AED or Auto Specialties Inc. Second with forged internals you can safely run 10 psi of boost on your application provided you run a safe A/F ratio. The boost will be dependent on how much restriction you have, not how much air the blower is flowing. You don't want boost since it means heat.
Third, I ran the smaller pulley on my stock 1995 ROMEO engine and it let go about 6 months after I installed it. I took out the #2 ring land on my piston. EECDOC has run his smaller blower pulley for longer than I have but his is not a daily driver (like mine is). To this day he runs the factory long block ROMEO 4.6L with the AED kit. With stock heads, cams and bottom end he makes 308 RWHP and 390 RWTQ and that takes him through the 1/4 mile in 12.69 seconds at 107.70 mph.
In your case, with a good tune, you will BE FINE.
Mager,
4th, who is Jim Allen? Jim Sanborn is what you should have said. Allen is his middle name, by the way. Eaton makes the superchargers, Magnuson services them.
Greenbird,
I'm pretty sure you cannot use the '90-'95 SC pulley to spin the blower faster with the AED kit. But what do I know?
Justin,
You need a pulley from supercharged GM car (i.e. the old Buick) and the p.n. is EA85681. When you install the new pulley (whichever you decide) use locitite on the threads and torque the bolt to 50 lb-.ft. Also swap to a shorter belt to keep the tensioner in check. If you don't the belt will slip at WOT. I know, I had this problem. The AED belt it 111.8" long (hence the p.n. JK6-1118). Try using a belt in the 110.5" range. It works well with the smaller pulley.
