Hmm, hood pins are a good thing! Even with a stock hood, they'er still a good thing to have on there...

A good friend of mine has a 88(I believe) firebird TA w/ a 400 he swapped in and ended up trashing his tranny. While he was waiting for the new one, he had to drive his little brothers car which was an 89 Firebird base model with a swapped in 430. While driving it around he decided to hammer the throttle a little bit and as a result he twisted the car thus bending the hood up at a 90* angle... needless to say he needed a new hood and since then he fixed the car and added more support to the frame to handle the torque, lol :D Good thing he was on a back road and not on a highway when it happened
