Well, not my car started all right, but my truck didn't!

The block heater wasn't working, and I had to piss around with it for almost an hour trying to get her going.

I don't mind driving her, but if crap like this keeps happening - I want another truck!!! Oh well - at least I got paid for that time.

BTW - what's your local temperature? It was minus 20 degrees Celcius (don't know Ferenheit) this morning. Hurt to breath even, all that cold air in my nose...

In the town over from me, some guys shed caught fire. he ran the 500ft from his house to the shed, and he burned his lungs from the cold air.

Only -17C here this morning,spun over and fired right up.
No garage,I park on the street,no block heater either.

Today Regina finally got out of it's deep freeze ( -1 Celsius ) where we had seen temp's as low as -39 Celsius without a windchill and into the -50's with. I never had a problem with any of my cars starting in the cold except my 85 cavalier Z-24.

The guy who burned his lungs GB - did he survive? I can see how that would happen - our bodies heat air to tropical levels before we breath it - if it doesn't get warmed up (too damned cold to start with), it can cause damage.

Cold air in the intake? Only on the cars - I don't like it .

Well - it's good that nobody else got screwed by the cold - and that we have Ford's that start on demand .

my battery froze it was so cold!

went through alot of aggrevation, but finally got crappy tire to replace after a whole lotta *****in. well, it actually took three stores before a manager would actually give in. the first store would not help me whatsoever, and i got so irate that they threatened to call the cops and escorted me out of the store! the second store, everybody at the parts counter completely ignored me after a while and refused to acknowlege i was even there! finally at the third store, and my wit's end, i pulled a fast one on an asst manager. when he refused to help me i asked for the manager who wasnt in that day. he foolishly gave me the managers last name, so i grabbed the phone book off the counter and proceeded to look up his name so i could call him at home on my cell to work out this problem. asst manager didnt think this was a great idea, and decided to give me what i wanted, a new battery. the warranty does clearly state that they dont cover frozen batteries without defrosting and testing, but it was only a year old and i wasnt accepting this. itll be the last time i buy a battery from canadian tire, thats for sure!
