I have a stock airbox from a 95 Cougar I can throw back in there. Just wasnt sure if fabbing up a heat shield would be better than a factory airbox or another alternative. Guess I'll yank it and put a stock box on and shelf it.
No it won't. Cone filters are eye candy. The stock airbox will out flow a cone filter. If you must have a cone filter I'd go with something bigger than that, with a proper heat shield or locate it in the fender.
I can't find it, but somebody posted an article where they dropped in a k&n panel filter and gained a few HP, then switched to a cone, and gained a few more. The Specre ones are nice because they aren't oiled.
