I've already checked and smoked all the lines and fixed the leaks I've found and still haven't fixed anything.

94 3.8 in a 90 Cougar. Suddenly it's started idling high, around 1400-1500, and the brake pedal goes about an inch or so easier than normal, but still applying brakes like normal. Along with this, my brake lights have decided to not work until the pedal is fully pressed. That, and sometimes when on the brakes, there is a groaning sound coming from the passenger side front corner where what appears to be the charcoal canister and what I'm told is a vacuum reservoir. It also makes the sound a few seconds or so after it's started.

I'm all out of ideas on what to check, and don't know anything about the canister and I've never even heard of a vacuum reservoir... any help please?

As far as I can remember, I have only one vacuum port and then the one for PCV. But I'll still look at it and try what I can with that idea.

Nevermind, I'm a complete idiot. Did a KOER test with a scan tool and it popped up two codes that said it couldn't control idle speed, so I put a new IAC on it and that fixed it.
