Spots

I have used 50% vinegar and 50% water before and that works pretty well, but if you can find a cleaner called "The Works" (WalMart) - That stuff is phenominal!:gapteeth:

try...

You can also clay them off with a clay bar, then follow with your normal glass cleaner.
Clay magic or Mothers both make clay kits for around $10.

Water spots

Try; Steel wool {Three000} is the corseness you need, the finist they make.
DO NOT use any coarser or you will scratch the glass.
I used it with some soapy water with a circular motion and it did a great job.
Just rinse the whole car down after, if there is any fine pieces left it will rust in minutes and leave rust spots on the paint.
