Ok, is it just me, or did the “SERIES FINALE” SUCK BEYOND ALL COMPREHENSION!?!??! :redmad: :ztoohot: :redmad:

Does anyone know why the series was cancelled? Wasn’t it doing ok in the ratings? And to end it on THAT POS episode… :redmad:

The series, now in its fourth season, has suffered from perpetually low ratings. Indeed, its renewal for a fourth season was very much in doubt. In the end, UPN moved it to Friday nights - up against new episodes of Stargate: SG1 on Sci-Fi - and despite a generally perceived improvement in the quality of the storylines, ratings failed to recover.

DS9 lost my interest in the third season or so, and Gilligans Starship and Pre-Gilligans Starship I never really cared much for.

I hadn't realized it was failing. And yeah putting it up against SG1 was STUPID to say the least!! :beek:

But they still could have come up with a better ending besides just combining multiple plots like they did. It looked like they took three episodes and edited them into the "Series Finale"!! :redmad:

Well considering they shortened the season by a couple episodes, that's probably what they did. I honestly didn't think the finale was too bad. The first season was so long and drawn out and boring that I stopped watching when they kept hopping around in time.

1) It was OK, but putting up against Stargate SG-1, SG-1 Atlantis, Andromena, and Battleship Galactica..

Thank god for TiVo. (with duel 120's )

But, the whole missing the "Prime Directive" thing kinda made it hap hazard, I can't think of how many rules they broke..

Plus, ABC moved Alias to Wednesday. Which also was a bad for UPN & Star Trek.

Can someone tell me what happened at the end of the season finale of SG Atlantis. The DVR cut off the last few minutes just as the jumper was headed out to try and destroy one of the hive ships.

On Enterprise I really had a hard time following it this last season with them jumping all over the place. But I am disappointed there is not some type of Star Trek on anymore. It is like the end of an era. I have just not been able to get into some of the other Sci-Fi shows except for Galactica and the two SG shows.

well, if you think about it, they did kind of leave it open for other storylines, or possably a future series. When Trip was near death, and Doctor Flox put him into "The Tube", that was the last we saw of him in the show. No explanation of what "The tube" was, or is (unless I missed something from a previous episode). My first thought was cryogenics. Remember T'pol and Trip talking about a baby? The story did show that humans and Vulcans are compatable (which we already knew any way from Mr. Spock). Vulcans life spans are far longer than humans. See where I'm going? There still may be a future here yet! One other note, Remember too, this next Star Wars movie will be the last in the series. I think this may be the first time (that I can remember) that there will be no more Star Wars movie, or Star Trek series "coming" in the near future. We will be blank of their presence. Scary

So where were you from 1983-1996ish? ;) Lucas had said he wasn't going to make 7,8,9 or 1,2,3 and then years later changed his mind on 1,2,3?

Didn't I hear Troi or Ryker say that he had "no idea he wasn't going to make it back"?

I have a hard time believing that this is the "end" of the Star Trek franchise. Too many $$$ involved to let it die here and this way, I thought the final episodes suxed too but I really never got into Enterprise in a big way.

Troy and riker are on the next generation... ive never been a fan of STar Trek... i always thought it was geeky... my dad was always a fan of the original and the next generation... then he bought all 7 seasons on DVD for the next generation, and so I wathed an episode... very nice. In my opinion as of now: VOyager sucked, DS9 sucked, and the current Star Trek sucks. TNG was the best... even though the CG was horrible... still good.

I haven't missed a Star Trek related episode since The Next Generation started. The Original series was already in reruns, when it first caught my attention...but I probably saw each one of those, three or four times, by the time I got out of High School.

When I watch a series that I like, I tend to try to simply enjoy it, rather than spend my time critiquing it to death, so I probably tend to have a better opinion of them than some people. I do admit, there have been times when I found myself rolling my eyes, however.

As far as the Enterprise Series Finale...I really do think it was rather rude to end Enterprise as a Next Generation episode.

Hopefully, after a rest and another movie, they'll come up with something to breathe new life into the theme.

One thing for sure...not even a lack of a new "Star Trek" of some kind to watch is going to cause me to stoop to watching "Reality" shows.

Yea, Troi and Ryker did say that Trip didn't know that he "Wasn't going to make it back". But that just implies that he dies. There was no wake or ceremony either. Surely, a character as important as Trip would of at least got a wake, or an "I sure wish Trip had made it to see this" in the finale. Mark my words, He's not dead ;) . WE will always have the reruns, but it's not the same as a fresh episode. Stargate never did anything for me, the new Battlestar Galactica is all backwards and soaplike, and Reality shows are just gimmicks for the geeks.

that whole series sucked. i was a big trek fan until i heard they were going back in time and basically rewriting the whole basis. i bet gene roddenberry was rolling in his grave when he heard about them going back. gene was always about moving forward, and im sure this went against everything he stood for. if he had still been here hed say "umm screw that, nobody wants to watch a show about peuny missles and lasers when theyre used to photon/quantum torpedoes, phasers and multiphasic hull plating"

to revamp the franchise, they now need to make a series based at least 50 years ahead of voyager, where nobody is linked to TNG, DS9,VOY(though descendants are cool), where its all about taking the fight to the now dwindling borg, trying to keep peace between 8472, and showing more technology(such as promethius's 4 vector attack mode, or quantum slipstream).

btw paramount has greenlighted another installment of TNG movies. this better be TNG's version of TOS's Voyage Home, or else ****s gonna hit the fan. i think that Data put all his memory into the Clone at the end of Nemesis, and youre gonna see Data come alive again, but be in his childlike form before he fully understood humanity, much like spock was when he was resurrected. i also hear riker does take his own command, and gets his own ship of the line, and has to fight side by side with picard against a new threat. 8472 anyone? my cousin is big on the trek forums and he is usally pretty in the ballpark when he tells me the news and whats going ons.

and alot pf people are saying this is the end of the franchise. i dont think so, saying this is the end is like saying after "Revenge of the Sith" nobody cares about star wars. the original series lasted 3 years then was cancelled and had i think a 10 year hiatus before the Motion Picture came out. if anything the franchise will focus on making movies and rethinking its series fronts before venturing in another series. and if anything, get it away from UPN and back onto fox where TNG made its most showing.

and battlestar galactica kicks ***. cant wait for the new season.

Never got into "Enterprise" as I never really liked the basis of it. ST:TNG and ST:VOY are my favorites (have both on DVD)

Reality shows are just Gimmicks for the geeks means just what it implies, and your right to say they suck. Because they do. And on that premise, who has seen what the latest TV land top ten show will be about? I thought that I was saved with TV land, now they've stooped into the Goooo. :(

I recorded the last 2 episodes on enterprise, cause I saw a preview of soemthing of the next generation on there. I haven't seen them yet. Also, I was never a fan of enterprise, only TNG.

Looks like I'm going to be dissapointed.
