So I'm sitting here on campus. I have a 96 v8. I try to start and it turns over and wow wow wow wow wow and stumbles like its start but still cranks. It's got 166k on the thing and original starter.

Fuel filter is new but I'm thinking it might be toast, also I can hear the fuel pump kick on as well. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow though.

Check the connector to the crank sensor too by the AC compressor.

What troubleshooting have you done, and what were the results of that troubleshooting? If you can't answer that yet, this thread is pointless until you do.

The only troubleshooting I have done is knowing that besides a starter, coilpacks, and a crank sensor, all the parts that could lead to problems starting are new and in working order.

Although tomorrow when I get back on campus I'll take a look.
