my brother is looking for a stereo for his standard cab 94 chevy pickup. the big thing he wants is for it to be capable of controlling his ipod. there will not be subs in the vehicle so it just needs decent power for the four speakers. what would you recommend for under $250? thanks, Dave

alpine cda9856 w/ seperate ipod interface cable should run just under $250, if not less. i believe the price dropped from like 200 to 170-180 so it may be less. I am in love w/ my alpine and i don't even have an ipod.

+1 with Mybird_91...that Alpine is perfect for this job. Good headunit power, good sq, and a built in ipod connection on the back of the unit. Perfect for your brother. You should be able to find someone who sells that unit for just about 200 bucks. Use the rest of the money for the mounting kit and wiring harness. Good luck!

im going to get the alpine CDA-9857. It has the full speed connection like the 9856, but has a 2 line display instead of a 1 line display and has a little better EQ. They go for about 250ish on ebay.
