i think my 91 is done:(
i replaced my noisy fuel pump over the long weekend. all seemed ok. started the car after work, it was chugging... gave it a little gas and it was ok again. happened again. the other night driving home the temp gauge climbed quickly to the top, then settled back down. yesterday night started after work. seemed like the starter stalled a couple of times while turning over, like the battery was weak. finally started. big cloud of white smoke, no smell, though. running rough. headed toward parkway a couple of miles. temp gauge shoots up and stays there. car is running terrible. limp a few miles to dad's and borrow his car.

can anyone think of anything other than the head gasket that might cause this? the hg's were replaced 5 or 6 years ago, this time i'm afraid it's fatal. :(:(

thats the HGs. the starter stalling, is actually water in the cylinder that the engine is trying to compress.
