Hey guys. I'm getting some tires for X Mas and would like to see how 235/60/15s AND BIGGER look on the stock fan wheels. Submit those pics!

Thanks.

245/60-15's are VERY close to the size of the stock 70 series tires. You won't even notice the difference in the speedo.

Maybe i'm missing something here. I heard that when you change the tire size you usually have to go to a bigger rim. Example my t-bird's stock tires are 215-70-15's. If i wanted to go to a higher number it would read this way 225-60-16 or 235-50 -17's. This is what a lot of people in the auto industry say. Is this wrong or did i do the math wrong.

the first number is the width of the tire. so 225 235 245 255 265 etc...

the second number is the sidewall height, 30 40 50 60 70 etc.

the last number is the wheel diameter, 15 = 15" wheel, 16 = 16" wheel 17 = 17" wheel etc.

according to this tire size calculator your speedometer with 24560R15 tires as opposed to the 21570R15 tires will be exactly 1% too fast. Certainly nothing to be concerned about....

Keep 'em coming guys!

I'm actually only worried about whether this size tire fits inside the wheelwells (both front and back) don't really want any tread to stick out.

If anyone has pics of their car directly from the front or back, that'd be great.

Thanks again.

Here's 235/60 15s on stock rims w/Eibach springs...no clearance problems but the stock rims don't really provide adequate sidewall support for "spirited" cornering or quick lane changes. Should have at least another inch of rim width for 15" tyres!

Cheers,
DR:cool:

I know they're not the stock fan wheels, but how about some 255/60-15's. :D

Nah, they're not wide enough.
