Where to start. I get this noise that sounds like a crinkling aluminum foil underneath the area by my gas peddle. It only happens when I floor it, and starts at about 35 mph until I quiet accelerating. I have no idea what it could be, and was wondering if any one had some suggestions to what it could be or had a similar experience with it.

Thx.

hey Greenbird, I think I may have the same noise going on... If it is detonation, how can I find out for sure, and what can I do about it? I'm a broke college kid and cheap fixes are my friend. Thanks,

James

dielectric grease in the plug boots solved it for me. new wires, and higher octane gas.

You should try higher octane gas to see if it is detonation. If it goes away with higher octane, then I would suggest a de-carbon procedure. Namely "berryman's b12".
