I just got a tranny out of a 2000 Mustang GT put it in changed the wiring on hte connector and now the car has absolutely no power and it dosen't want to rev right almost like it's starving for fuel.

A question, when you do the rewire for the newer tranny are you changing the wiring in the connector coming from the car or are changing the tranny wiring?

Would this be do to the plug being wired wrong?

I followed the directions in the tech article.

Also when I put in park it kind of jumps and makes a clicking noise.

Any help would be much appreciated:confused:

Had the same problem. One of the pictures in the tech article is reversed. The one for the new connector is actually viewed looking in the back of the connector where the wires enter not the front looking into the pins. Also once you are done with that make sure all the pins are seated all the way forward. I bet right now your car is starting in second and not shifting

Do you mean as if you are looking down into the connector on the tranny(back of plug). I reversed it and I couldn't get the 12v power wire in because there was no hole for the wire in the rubber piece on the back of the connector.

Do you have to make another hole?

Could this damage the ECU?

Yep you need to poke a hole in the rubber plug for the wire. The new one is looking in the back of the plug the old one in the article is looking at the pins on the transmission

You cant rewire the harness inside the tranny, you have to repin the connector that comes from the car side and plugs into the tranny.

Correct pinouts are in my article in the WIP forum. Might have to scroll down a bit to find it, it hasnt been brought up recently.
