What is the actual length of the sleeve supposed to be? i looked at a couple brands and it seems they are all different. Did'nt have anything to measure with but they looked to vary from an .125 of an inch to .50
The length of the ferrule varies from mfg to mfg. The improved performance moog thermoplastic units with the high failure rate included a ferrule that was 3.00" or slightly longer. Any design other than the original ford 2 piece mating ferrule is a disaster waiting to happen.
the aftermarket folks are cheap and would rather include a premade piece of thickwall split stock (that costs less than 1 penny) then make the correct sliding ferrule which would no doubt cost a buck to make. Make mine ford! (hello ford parts counter!)
