I wanted to tinker with my gauges, since I have a stuck odometer and tach, but I can't figure out how to get the headlight switch off so I can remove the dash - how do you do it? It's a '92 T-bird Sport.

PS - my first "project" car.

You need to be careful doing it, but get a thin yet strong probe or pick with a 90 degree bend on the end. On the headlight knob there will be a slot that you can get to when the knob is pulled all the way out so that the headlamps are on. There is a spring clip hiding in there. Take the pick and slide it up into that slot and gently pull out and toward you on the clip. The knob will pull off when the clip has released from the groove in the headlight switch shaft.
Pull too hard and you will break the clip. I know this from experience.
