i dont really know what to look under for this so im just going to ask. ive hit going in a couple driveways :mad: and every time it hit a flat bar type thing thats before the rearend and its sraight up now and im getting ready to take it off but i want to make sure its not important. any body have the same problem???:confused:

It's structural, it's there to box the trans tunnel thus assuring the floor pan doesn't distort under loads. Having said that, its effect is minimal and you likely won't notice any issues without it. These cars have been known to crack in the rear floor pan area from higher power manual trans combos.

It's more beefy than it looks, it's stronger than the floor sheet metal anyway. These cars really lack a lot of structure in that area because of the gas tank. Older platforms such as the Fox(and SN95) have the floor brace integrated into the unibody(tied to the rockers, frame rails and torque boxes) directly under the raised portion of the floor.

The SFC 's JL makes replace that piece as well as brace it to the front and rear frame rails. You'll see much more benefit to those than a beefier brace alone can get you.

I think he was thinking of making some more; we should try to get a gp together...
