Not really sure where to post this, probably could have in supercharging, sorry. Anyway, i have a 90 sc, bad tranny and body is rusting out but the motor is still good. Buddy called me and was wondering how much i wanted for the supercharger...Wondering how much something like that is worth?? As far as i know its in good working condition. he said he'd pay $200. Personally i think thats to much. So anyone have an idea what its worth?

if it's too much then it's either his fault for not checking (so you should fleece him), or he wants it bad nough to pay more (so you should still fleece him). did i mention how you should take every penny he's willing to pay if it's worth less than that?

yeah i went to a junk yard and found one in actually really good condition it was 100 bucks just for the s/c top plenum and the metal pipe that says suparcharged on it.

if he's willing to give you the whole set up s/c inter cooler all the piping its definitely worth the 200. also ebay is a great place to find the going price on those superchargers. i've seen some complete sets go for 500+ or as little as 250ish.

Yeah, a guy I know sold the supercharger, plenums, and intercooler tubing and maybe the throttle body, I'm not sure, for $400. I don't think that $200 is a bad deal for him as long as it doesn't need rebuilt or leaks anything.

yeah the only reason it should be 500 is if its the 112 and not the m90

Yes you should sell it to him for $200. I have 3 of those things sitting in my garage and I can't seem to get rid of them.

It will take quite a bit of fab work, but it can be made to work.

ok i have another question....He wants to put it on a 5.0 mustang....will that even work?
to be honest the easiest way to do it that i've seen is get an intake manifold built for it and have it sit ontop of it IE: the aed style. that way you might be able to fit it under the stock hood. it'll cost you but it will probably function the best way with least amount of fab work

No way it would ever fit AED style, the lifter valley is not deep enough and there's a distributor RIGHT THERE in front of the manifold.

But, check this out. Seemed to work well for this guy:

well the distributor could be moved. but i wasn't sure on the aed style as i have a 4.6 big difference in size im guessing. i looked at the guys set up but seems well bleh it gets the job done but it most certainly is not pretty by any means.

How can you move the distributor?

It does get the job done. If you want it to look pretty more time could be spent on mandrel piping instead of welding together straight tube. And an intercooler could EASILY be put on a setup like that. Other than that, it'd be pretty hard to put an M90 on a 5.0 because of the distributor, and how far forward the accessories are compared to be 4.6 and 3.8 engine.

I think he put down around 310rwhp on like 5-6psi.

I figured that's what you were thinking. Spend $600 for the EDIS and MS, plus $800 for a laptop, just to put a $100 M90 on a motor that realistically has too much displacement for a blower that size. Doesn't seem economical to me. You could end up buying a Kenne Bell kit for the cost involved. Just stick it on the passenger side by the alternator for pete's sake. Then you get to use an intercooler.

yeah it definitely gets the job done i just think its a tad on the ugly side is my biggest beef with it. i had more the 4.6 valley in mind didn't realize there was a huge difference. is the 310 on a stock motor with tb and maf? or new intake manifold and other stuff

as I recall it is stock heads, aluminum intakes, and mild cam.

thats pretty good then. makes wish i would get my ass in gear and s/c my car :)
