Over the summer I want to buy a 1997 black t-bird with a V8 engine. How much faster would the supercharger make it? Has anyone ever tested 0 to 60, 1/4 mile, or hp before and after the supercharger was installed? If the V6 supercharged is faster than the V8, then the V8 supercharged must be quick. Also to price it out, what else did people do to install a supercharger?

Just a tip, read the "Power Adder / EEC Tuning" section of the forums. There are quite a few people in there with SCed V8s of all different kinds. Some have info posted on the signatures below their posts and you can see what they have done and stuff. Also then you can PM or email them if you have questions.

The Allen kit is supposed to be nice because they make a kit for the Tbird. It's a little expensive. If done right any of the superchargers people have with other simple mods should get you in the 13s. probably about 210-260 RWHP depending on your other mods and what kind of SC you choose. Of course you can get more power then that but thats just a start.

Don't know what anybody with a supercharger is actually putting to the ground, but if you want to shoot for the above range of 210-260 RWHP, PI heads or a DOHC swap will get you around 230 RWHP (see the 4.6L section, vicrattlehead put 229 down the PI route and I put down 230 the DOHC route) and throw some gears in on top of that with tuning you should get high 13's (low 14's for sure) with traction depending on your elevation.

I am running the stock manifolds with the welds in the ports cleaned up so they aren't hanging down into the ports, gutted front cats into 2.5" pipe x-cross over and flowmaster 40 series.

I don't know if you are running the ASWF 12C plugs or not, but if you aren't that would problaby make up that bit of HP. If you want to know all mods, go to the site in my signature. Complete mod list is there, needs updated but all of the mods that are listed, even the inprogress or coming soon ones were done at the time of the dyno tune.

I recommend AED's kit, but it's just my opinion.

I made 325 RWHP and 380 RWTQ (SAE) with a completely stock 2000 4.6L GT engine and an AED kit. Stock exhaust manifolds and airbox too!

I'm making 280HP and 348RWTQ at the rear wheels on a stock 95' block and heads. No tranny mods, no PI heads and stock air box w/ K&N panel filter. I love the extra HP!!!!:D
