I realize the only way to gain superior performance out of my 97 Bird is by a supercharger. I would like to poll those who have them on the 4.6L mills. I am asking which is the best brand(allen vs. kenny bell etc...) and which one gains the most rear wheel HP for the price. Also is there and mods than can be done to increase HP proir to adding a supercharger. Is there any mods that can be done by myself? I am banking this information on me not getting a 98 Mark VIII. If I acquire said vehicle this information will be useless. But I will not know for awhile. I appreciate and any all information that can be provided. I can be reached at [email protected]

Thanks,
Nick in St.Louis

I'd go with the Allen engineering S/C. Uses the stock engine, and it's "Relativley" easy to install (if you have mechanical ability and the right tools)... I would go with it.. you can easilly get low 13's with a stock 4.6 w/ the Allen S/C

If you are serious about power, you would want to rebuild your engine with 99+ GT heads, and dished pistons. If your not that serious, just get your stock heads ported and polished. with any of these things will want JBA headers.

hp isn't everything. If you plan on racing the car, go for the vortech. If you want a street car (read:tire roasting low-end torque) go for the allen kit.

I don't think anyone has a kenne bell or whipplecharger on a 4.6L t-bird yet.

Take shelter...

This one gets good if the right people get involved.

There is no "best" supercharger.
