First time running at the 1/8th mile track tonight! Ran a best of 9.63 @ 77.1 mph. I know she has more in her but I'm not really sure how much more. Spinning pretty bad I think because the track prep was bad. And I wasn't running slicks.. like I should have.. Also my reaction time was atrocious. I got it down to a .531 but by then the track was really slick. Ran alot of 9.7xs. What do y'all think?? I think if I could hook up really good with a decent reaction time I could pull a 9.4? :zdunno:

Pic of time slip,

Yeah I found a calculator that said 14.9x or something. I can tell my launch is bad as I was chasing some of these cars down at the end. In one of the videos I was doing 77 mph at the end and the guy next to me was only doing 68 mph and beat me by a tenth. Ill try to post more.

That's got 14.7 written all over it. I ran a 9.605 at 73 MPH with a 14.97 @ 91.58. You're clearly making more power than I did tonight, so if you get your 60 ft down, you'll be there.

And they need to stop prepping both sides of the tracks for us guys that don't have slicks!
I know, right? I had to deal with that tonight too, but there's a way to over come that. What I did was pull up a little further, burn out up to the upper middle end of 1st gear, lift off the gas and let the tires catch. Don't get to the pre stage yet. Gun it to make sure it grips. If it slips, come back, but stay where it's dry. Gun it again and stage. I brought the engine up to 1100 RPM and mashed the gas after the last yellow on the tree lit up.

When I drag on a street radial I never do a burnout, I drive around the water box spin them just a little to knock the dirt off then head to the line. A burnout with street radials makes them more slippery. You need a slick unless you want to drive around on drag radials, I've used both and nothing beats a good slick!

Yeah I try to go around the water hole and don't do a burnout at all. Didn't seem to make a difference at the end tho. My gf drove it and she drove right through it  lol

I guess 15 flat with these mods are pretty slow aren't they? I saw some guys on the 1/4 and hp stickied thread running low 14s with these mods. Heck the last post on there by wolfer is a 14.06 with a PI explorer motor 3.73 gear and stock torque converter. >:/ dang how'd he do that?

I know how you feel, in fact I have a goal of EXACTLY which car I want to be faster than on that list, after that I'll be happy. Unfortunately it's going to take more gear, more converter, and a blower to get there. I'm saving up to make it happen.

Is that 13.97 with your new 3800 stall Chris? Pretty damn good time! On street tires too?

I talked to a guy on the mustang forums and he was saying slicks migh not help as much as I think. He said for my power level and low stall a decent set of street tires with a correctly prepped track would be sufficient.

Nope that is with a 3000-3200 re-re-reworked markviii/marauder converter (purchased from the vender I no longer associate it with) it's been worked and reworked by a local converter company. I'm thinking a 3800 multi-plate is in the future from Circle D, or my local shop. This converter is a single disk. Full street tires (set up more for autocross than drag racing). 255-50-17 Nitto 450's on the back and 255-50-17 Nitto 555's on the front. I need DOT street slicks in a big way since the drag racing I do requires street tires, no full race slicks, but DOT street slicks are OK.

I try to do that, but sometimes they don't give you a choice by spraying water all over the entrance to the lane.

Wow Chris that's great. For your power level I bet you surprise almost everyone with those times! Do you normally have traction issues with those tires at the track?

How do you launch her? I was leaving from idle because if I stalled 1800ish I was spinning pretty bad. I want to go back when the track isn't prepped for slicks so I can really play with my stall speed more.

1200-1800 is where I've been launching it at. BTW Phatbrd is my target/goal to beat.
