I went shopping at a nearby craft beer store and came home with this one! 🍺

Beer Geek Breakfast Brewery is out of San Diego, looks like the parent company is in Denmark.

While I think of it, anyone here on Untappd? I finally got on the app a couple of months ago, kind of addicting! :p

I'm not big on the IPA stuff, but I'll try about anything. Had this brand in Dallas a couple years ago, but saw this new brew at the local wine and spirits. Figured I'd give it a try as the original is really great german bier. I prefer the original but this is good. Would be better if it was cooler out. Good fall 🍻.

I've had a few of their beers, I like the Hefeweizen. Wasn't a real fan of the IPAs until some of the hazy New England styles came around.

Wow, that is hazy! Looks really good. I look forward to getting out again and sampling the latest. I've really been off of the beer all summer with the 'RONA going 'round and sheltering in place at home for the most part all summer.

I joined a beer club at a beer and wine store in town, I had 2 choices, IPA or a mixed bag. At least with the IPA I pretty much know what I would be getting, but the other one could be sours or who knows what. 15th of the month I pick it up, no need to wait for the UPS guy to deliver and sign for it.

Good for you Ron, I wish I had your willpower. Think of the weight I could have lost if I stayed dry all summer!

Would have been funnier if I was in it!

I asked my daughter about Wynkoop Brewing because she lives in Denver, she tells me I've been there! Don't remember being there, I must of been bad!

Not thinking beer will cut it for tonight, so I'll have a short glass of this on the rocks.

How'd you like it?
It's very nice. Normally, I'm not a Bourbon drinker- more Scotch. My older brother is and bought me that for my 40th birthday a month ago. My older sister bought me a fancy cask strength Makers as well. Haven't dabbled in that yet.

I've gotten into bourbon this year. Drank Scotch some years ago also. I find bourbon has more of the oak flavors. Cask strengths have some very interesting flavor profiles.

Do you find it too sweet? That was my problem with a lot of bourbons vs irish whisky or scotch.
Any recommendations?

Q: Isn't bourbon supposed to be from Kentucky? If so, how is Jefferson's aged at sea?

Jefferson's is from Kentucky, but literally loaded onto a ship and put to sea for 3 years. The constant moment in the cask is supposed to age it quicker.

Not near as sweet as Jack or Jim, and not close to southern comfort, which is as bad as a Mt Dew. I'd call it in line with Johnnie Walker as far as sweetness, but the more agreed oak flavors as Kidd said.

Bourbon does not have to come from Kentucky, most of it does though. From Wiki: "Bourbon sold in the United States must be produced in the U.S. from at least 51% corn and stored in a new container of charred oak.[6] "
Writer's Tears is a really good Irish Whiskey aged in Bourbon barrels, worth a try.
Elijah Craig is my go to bourbon, they make a good Rye also. Have been drinking Knob Creek barrel select rye, hoping the liquor store still has some this weekend.

My wife said she needed a Covid pick-me-up so I ended up dragging down the fake tree from the attic. After setting it up, her and my son son decorated it so I decided it was time for a cocktail! 🍺

Foley Brothers Brewing out of Brandon, VT., Long Beards Oatmeal Stout.
