In the next day or two, I'll be ordering the parts to do the jmod this weekend. Just making sure, if this everything I need for the "hardest" shifts, or the 350hp or whatever level it is?

F7AZ-7F251-AA Piston
F75Z-7F284-AA Spring
F7AZ-7H292-AB Piston
F6AZ-7A098-A Tranny Filter
EOAZ-7D189-A Piston
F75Z-7H188-AA Piston
F87Z-7F201-AA Spring
F2VY-7C155-A Gasket
F5AZ-7D100-A Gasket
F2VY-7A191-A Pan Gasket

Plus all the drill bits, mercon V, and a trans cooler.

Since I have a 97 i dont need the deep pan, and I dont want to mess with the od servo(I believe its called) since the band may fall off and people say its a pita. So is this what I need? (btw) i did a search, and this is what I came up with, but it was a post in 2002, just making sure this is still up to date.

F75Z-7F284-AA 1-2 Acc TOP Spring - CORRECT
F7AZ-7H292-AB 2-3 Accumulator Piston - CORRECT
F6AZ-7A098-A Tranny Filter - CORRECT
EOAZ-7D189-A SHORTEST REVERSE servo - CORRECT

F87Z-7F201-AA OD Servo Return Spring - CORRECT
F2VY-7C155-A Gasket INCORRECT
F5AZ-7D100-A Gasket INCORRECT
F2VY-7A191-A Pan Gasket NOT REQUIRED

You really want the '96 and up main control gaskets. They are p.n.

- 1L3Z-7C155-AA
- XW7Z-7D100-AA

These are the most up-to-date gaskets for a '96 and up main control. I'm not sure if any of the above part numbers have been superseded, but you'll always get the most updated parts from the Ford dealer.

The pan gasket is reusable provided it's not damaged. You don't need a new one unless someone has stuck a cork gasket in there during a service. I've seen tons of them on Crown Vics.

Nope. You already have it (or you should at least).

and I dont want to mess with the od servo(I believe its called) since the band may fall off and people say its a pita.
Ok, then delete the OD servo and spring from the above list. REMEMBER, do not touch the OD servo when doing the J-Mod. Just removing from the bore can and will cause the OD band to move out of place. If you are replacing the OD servo, just be careful.

So is this what I need?
Looks like it. Just remember, a hard shift is fun, but it beats up on the driveline components. If you are making 400 HP, then drill it for 400 HP setting. If you aren't making 400 HP, get a neck brace.

I appreciate it man, no, I just did a tranny fluid change w/ new filter and gasket(10k ago), I didnt drain the TC though, so i'll go ahead and do it this time. It has the rubber gasket I got from the Ford stealership here in town, so I guess I'm good.(I do have the deep pan, positive)

For the 400HP level i just want the hard shift. Not like I'll really have 400hp from a basic built up engine but ohwell. My shop teacher and I are thinking about a built up Supercoupe engine to be put in this car this summer when we can use his personal shop and have more time to do it, not real sure on the specifics just yet, but it wont retain the stock 3.8 much longer.**I know...I'll need a better rear end and halfshafts, and some other things...I'll be picking alot of it up at the local pullapart as a parts car SC**

I got separator plate gasket numbers 1L3Z-7C155-AA & 1W7Z-7D100-AB.

Question on TCCs... 01 pn F8AZ-7G136-AA compared to '96 pn F5AZ-7G136-AA. Are these compatible or unsure?

I am also getting F75Z-7F284-BA 1-2 top spring.
